Hotchkiss Westwell have, for many years, offered an optical alignment service to a variety of industries and we have gained considerable expertise in this field

It is increasingly becoming a necessity, particularly as the requirement continues for machines to increase in speed. The parallelism and level of machinery is critical, and alignment to a higher degree of accuracy is achieved utilising optical equipment.

Laser Alignment The Combi-Laser uses the well-known reverse indicator method, where two dial indicators are used. The Combi-Laser uses two visible red laser beams. The system consists of one display unit, two transmitter/detector units and universal fixtures.

The display shows, graphically and digitally, parallel offset, angular error, and required correction values. The Combi-Laser has a resolution of 0.01mm at distances up to 10 meters.  Correct alignment helps to reduce machine downtime.
