The Brief:

Open up holes in a rotating bearing chute for the gas power industry.

The unit was deburred and cleaned: Any burrs were removed, and the unit was cleaned to prepare it for further use

The Solution:

To mill out the holes on the 1.9-meter diameter unit weighing approximately 9.5 tonnes using the Monti rotating milling machine, the following simplified steps were followed:

1. The Monti machine was set up: The chute was calibrated, and the unit securely mounted.

2. The program was written: The machine’s control system was used to create a milling program based on the customer’s drawings.

3. The cutting tools were selected: Appropriate tools were chosen for the milling operation based on the unit’s material and desired hole dimensions.

4. The machine parameters were set up: The cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut were defined to match the material and machine capabilities.

5. The program was run: The milling operation was initiated, and the machine milled the holes according to the program.

6. The holes were inspected: After milling, the holes were inspected for dimensions and quality using measuring instruments.

7. The unit was deburred and cleaned: Any burrs were removed, and the unit was cleaned to prepare it for further use.
