The Brief:

Machine Stainless Steel Duplex Water Pump Shaft Wear Rings

Throughout the operation, heat, vibrations, and irregularities were monitored closely.

The Solution:

The stainless steel duplex water pump shaft was set up on a lathe with a 2.5m swing and 10m length capacity, and appropriate cutting tools were chosen for machining stainless steel. The shaft was securely fastened, ensuring proper alignment and stability, and the lathe’s controls were programmed with the desired dimensions and tolerances for the wear rings.

The machining process was started, gradually removing excess material through light passes. Cutting fluids or lubricants were used to improve the cutting process and reduce heat. Throughout the operation, heat, vibrations, and irregularities were monitored closely.

Suitable tools were used to measure and verify the dimensions of the wear rings, and the machined wear rings were inspected for any imperfections. Any burrs or sharp edges were carefully removed. Once the machined wear rings were safely removed from the lathe, they were appropriately packaged.

Safety guidelines were strictly followed, and personal protective equipment (PPE) was worn consistently throughout the entire process.
